Profile Safety, Takedown and Appeals Policy

How to report a profile or content, how VideoDate reviews reports, and how account actions can be appealed.

Last updated: 2026

1. Scope

This policy applies to user profiles, biographies, profile media, conduct during video dates, messages sent through the Service and any other user-generated content or behaviour connected to VideoDate.

2. How to report a profile or content

Anyone can report a profile by selecting “Report profile” on that profile. This opens our support form with the profile identifier prepared. Reports can also be submitted through the public Contact page by selecting “Report / Abuse”. No account is required to use the public form. Include the profile name or ID, what happened, when it happened and any relevant screenshots or other evidence you lawfully possess. Do not submit illegal material itself; describe it and tell us where it appeared.

3. Immediate danger

If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. Then report the matter to VideoDate. Reports involving a child, suspected CSAM, human or sex trafficking, credible threats, sexual violence or imminent physical harm are prioritised as urgent safety reports.

4. How we review reports

Reports enter a restricted team inbox and are reviewed by an authorised member of the Wasala Technologies Oy safety and moderation team. The reviewer checks the reported profile and available account records, the report details, prior reports and relevant service activity. Access is limited to information needed for the review. We may ask the reporter for clarification, preserve relevant records, temporarily restrict the profile while investigating, and consult legal counsel or competent authorities where appropriate.

5. Response targets

We aim to begin reviewing urgent safety reports within 24 hours. We aim to acknowledge other reports within 2 business days and normally resolve them within 5 business days. Complex cases, external legal requests or cases requiring additional evidence may take longer; where possible, we provide a status update.

6. Possible actions

Depending on severity and evidence, we may take no action, warn the user, remove or require changes to content, limit profile visibility or features, suspend the account during investigation, permanently ban the account, preserve evidence, or report the matter to payment providers or competent authorities. CSAM, trafficking and credible serious threats are handled under our zero-tolerance rules. We do not disclose confidential information about another user or details that could compromise safety or an investigation.

7. Notice of removal or ban

When permitted by law and safe to do so, we tell the affected user that content was removed or the account was restricted, suspended or banned, identify the policy category involved and explain how to appeal. Notice may be limited or withheld where it could endanger someone, expose a reporter, facilitate evasion or prejudice an investigation.

8. How to appeal

A reported user may appeal a removal, restriction, suspension or ban through the public Contact page by selecting “Appeal account action”. The appeal must include the account email or profile ID, the action being appealed, why the decision is believed to be incorrect and any relevant supporting information. Appeals should be submitted within 30 days of notice.

9. Appeal review and outcome

An authorised safety team member who was not the original decision-maker reviews the appeal where reasonably possible. We aim to decide appeals within 10 business days. If the appeal succeeds, we restore the content or account access as appropriate and correct our records. If it is denied, the original action remains in force and we provide a brief reason where legally and safely possible. A denied appeal closes the internal review unless materially new evidence is submitted.

10. Records and privacy

We keep report, moderation and appeal records only as long as needed for safety, legal compliance, dispute handling and preventing repeat abuse. Personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy.
